Andrea Berloff
Andrea Berloff co-wrote the critically acclaimed feature film Straight Outta Compton. The film earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, as well as nominations for the Critics’ Choice Award, BET Award, NAACP Award, PGA Award, and the WGA Award. Her first screenplay credit was Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center in 2006. Some other credits include Blood Father, which was the closing night selection at the Cannes film festival in 2016, and Sleepless, starring Jamie Foxx. In 2019 Andrea wrote and directed The Kitchen, a crime drama starring Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss. In 2023 she co-wrote The Mother, starring Jennifer Lopez. The Mother premiered on Netflix and has since gone on to be one of the most-viewed movies on the platform. Andrea currently has two films in post-production for Netflix - The Last Mrs. Parrish directed by Robert Zemeckis starring Jennifer Lopez and The Fight For '84 starring Jamie Foxx. Both of these scripts were written with John Gatins, with whom she runs a production company as part of an overall deal at Netflix. In 2022 she was honored by Variety with the Creative Impact in Screenwriting Award, and in 2024 she was honored to be knighted by France with the Chevalier de l’order des Arts et des Letres.
