Rico Herre

Rico Herre

Rico Herre is a seasoned, award-winning filmmaker from Germany whose passion for storytelling began at an early age. Born in 1986 in Jena, he directed his first short film, The Sandbox, at 15, before building a strong foundation in the industry through years of hands-on work in film, television, and theatre, including roles as First Assistant Director, co-director, and second-unit director on a wide range of productions. For directing and screenwriting, he won several international awards. Now with his feature film IMPURE, he brings his artistic vision into sharp focus, delivering a thought-provoking work that confronts the 'period stigma' by approaching the subject with sensitivity, restraint, and a strong sense of authenticity. The film reflects his interest in the quiet, often overlooked moments that define human experience, and his belief that cinema can create space for reflection and dialogue.
