Rico Herre is a seasoned, award-winning filmmaker from Germany whose passion for storytelling began at an early age. Born in 1986 in Jena, he directed his first short film, The Sandbox, at 15, before building a strong foundation in the industry through years of hands-on work in film, television, and theatre, including roles as First Assistant Director, co-director, and second-unit director on a wide range of productions. For directing and screenwriting, he won several international awards. Now with his feature film IMPURE, he brings his artistic vision into sharp focus, delivering a thought-provoking work that confronts the 'period stigma' by approaching the subject with sensitivity, restraint, and a strong sense of authenticity.
